A little about Arcos

WHERE IN ARCOS ?
Although Arcos might be a small white village but as you may already know its full of culture , history and of course a great night-life for teenagers compared to the Uk or or Ireland etc.

First thing I think you should check out is the Friday night “BOTELLONA”. It happens in the same area as the Friday morning market ( beside San Miguel school) and it starts around 23:00 . It's the main meeting place for the young community including Arcos and other small surrounding towns such as Jédula and La Perdiz. In the Botellona people in groups bring their own bottle of alcohol then then they get some glasses, ice and a bottle of soft drink.

Afterwards many people go to BAR CASTRO (in front of telepizza) and have some rounds of chupitos , they are shots but are so diferent to anything I have seen before, there are so many to choose from and at only 1 euro per shot its good value too.

If you are more of a big disco person Arcos is not the best place for you ...there is one “THE BOSS” that may suit you better than the botellona.

HOW IN ARCOS ??
In Arcos there is a great bus service from town to the Molinera and Barrio Bajo. The busses run every hour and many run at night so its a great way to travel costing inly 90 cent a journey =) if you prefer there are also many taxis about town (tele taxi 956700066) and prices are not too bad...

Arcos culture/history...
Well, Arcos as you know is on a cliff / rock and at the top of the town. Up past the Casco Antiguo( old quarters) there are 2 churches and a castle. You can go there and take a look any day...there is also a small place beside the church where you can buy cookies from nuns. You can never see the nun but she can see you CREEPY
At the top there is a viewing piont. It has amazing views and you can see for miles, it'ss also a famous suicide point as many people has died there.

So , now you know a little about Arcos it's time for you to get out and enjoy it ...be carefull Arcos is known for spirits and witchcraft...
